Lata is a Certified Yoga Instructor and Yoga Therapist with many years of experience and an always evolving foundation of training. She first studied Hatha (Sampoorna) Yoga with Sri Yogi Hari of the Sivananda Lineage. Since then she has studied various styles of yoga including Kripalu, Integrated Yoga Therapy, Amrit Yoga Therapy, Yoga Fit, Get Fit Where You Sit Chair Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra. Drawing on the teachings of the multitude of yoga masters, she creates her own unique blend.
As a complement to this, Lata has received training as an Advanced Teacher of Therapeutic Yoga from Joseph Le Page at the Kripalu Center, and she most recently received her Certification as a Yoga Therapist with Kamini Desai at the Amrit Yoga Institute in Salt Springs, Florida, in 2013. This has added a more therapeutic and restorative approach to many of her classes, allowing her to offer restorative/ therapeutic group classes and private sessions. She has also furthered her studies in Yoga Nidra and Yoga for the Five Elements and Chakras.
Lata believes yoga is incredibly beneficial for anyone at any age, and it is her mission to help people achieve balance and harmony both inside and out! Lata has been teaching yoga for more than 20 years and teaches from the beginner to the advanced. Lata's experience in teaching yoga to children and the elderly has taught her that yoga can be fun, creative and productive at any age. She says, "I believe yoga should meet the person where they are in that moment, allowing their body to conform to the pose."
Lata also has studied Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Core Star Energy Balancing, Reiki 1,2 & 3, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Healthy Living Coaching and Dance. She is also a Florida Licensed Cosmetologist.
Lata loves to share the gift of Yoga on Englewood Beach, where she meets first-time beginners to experienced yogis in a variety of ages and physical abilities. In 2012 Lata brought together a group of her yoga students for Yoga Flash Mobs at the Englewood Farmers Market and then at Bealls Store. Lata believes in the community and loves to help other businesses grow. There is a sense of love, friendship and community at the Loving Light Studio, Englewood Beach, Yoga Flash Mobs, SUP Yoga (Paddleboard Yoga) and Englewood Drum Circle, which Lata founded in 2012.
Lata has a wealth of knowledge dedicated to Holistic Healing. After a car accident left her with many serious injuries, she studied various healing modalities. She went on to earn certification not only for teaching yoga, but she also earned certification in Reflexology and Raindrop Technique. Lata's personal experience with digestive disorder, depression, etc. led her to her studies in Holistic Nutrition at the Natural Healing Institute of California. During her three-year intensive study under Master Teacher Anthony William, she learned how to use Natural Hygiene, whole foods, fasting and detoxification to heal the body from within, allowing the body to return to its natural state of radiant health. Lata's finely tuned intuition and sense of energy allows her to read the energy of the class or an individual, which allows her to offer just what is needed at that time
Lata personally invites you on this beautiful journey
towards health, happiness, and inner peace.

About Our Certified Teachers
Kris is a Certified Amrit Yoga Instructor. She has been helping Lata and Robert as a model to demonstrate the yoga poses with the beach yoga classes since 2013, after moving to Englewood from California in 2011. In her desire to bring joy and yoga to the Englewood community, she has participated in all the flash mobs, Earth Day events and promotional celebrations that Loving Light Yoga has sponsored. She has taught several senior Chair Yoga students and teaches personalized classes tailored to particular needs. She is currently teaching our sunset yoga classes on Wednesday nights at Englewood Beach as well as subbing when needed for Lata and Robert at the beach.
In 2015 Kris completed her 200-hour yoga immersion and teacher training. She feels extremely fortunate to have been taught by Amrit Desai and his daughter Kamini in Salt Springs, Florida, at the Amrit Yoga Institute Ashram. She is also immensely grateful to Lata for guiding her in this new journey as a yoga teacher. Her style is a combination of Lata, Robert, Amrit and herself! She is interested in and practices healthy natural eating and living. She is exploring alternative healing concepts, including apitherapy and merging the spiritual with her yoga practice.
Her personal story is that she was born and raised in Sacramento, California, where she had a 33-year career as a court reporter. With her husband and twin daughters, she decided to move away from the stressful environment where she was working and living and move to Englewood to enjoy a more peaceful, relaxed lifestyle. Having exercised all her adult life — jogging, aerobics, pilates, weight training, Tae Bo, along with some gym yoga — she discovered before moving that beach yoga was offered within walking distance of where she would be living. After experiencing Loving Light Yoga beach yoga, she knew she had found her passion and her home!
Stephanie received her 200-hour yoga teacher training from Inner Peace Yoga School nine years ago, and she has been teaching weekly since. She is a Board Certified Massage Therapist who has been practicing massage and bodywork for the last 12 years and has been working as a Whole Health Educator for the last eight years. She began her journey into healing over 20 years ago and utilizes her extensive education, experiences and trainings in every class she teaches.
Her goal as a teacher is to help you become connected with your body. Most people (myself included) spend our time up in our heads, basically ignoring our bodies. By taking the time to settle into your body you learn how your body works, communicates and feels. The more comfortable you can be in your body the better your quality of life will be, in every aspect. Yoga means to unite — to unite body, mind and spirit. Calming the mind and focusing on the body allows the spirit to flow. This is the goal of all her practices and her aim in teaching yoga to “unbendable” people. She is trying to create classes that open yoga up to everyone…no matter what your physical “restrictions” may be.
Stephanie advises you to love your body, thank your body, and learn how to live in your body. You just may be surprised at what happens when you can truly settle into the present moment, with compassion and acceptance.
