About Our Certified Teachers

    About Our Certified Teacher

  Kris Hleuka

Kris Hleuka, Certified Yoga Instructor, Loving Light Yoga & Healing Center, Englewood, FL

Kris is a Certified Amrit Yoga Instructor. She has been helping Lata and Robert as a model to demonstrate the yoga poses with the beach yoga classes since 2013, after moving to Englewood from California in 2011.  In her desire to bring joy and yoga to the Englewood community, she has participated in all the flash mobs, Earth Day events and promotional celebrations that Loving Light Yoga has sponsored.  She has taught several senior Chair Yoga students and teaches personalized classes tailored to particular needs.  She is currently teaching our sunset yoga classes on Wednesday nights at Englewood Beach as well as subbing when needed for Lata and Robert at the beach.

In 2015 Kris completed her 200-hour yoga immersion and teacher training.  She feels extremely fortunate to have been taught by Amrit Desai and his daughter Kamini in Salt Springs, Florida, at the Amrit Yoga Institute Ashram. She is also immensely grateful to Lata for guiding her in this new journey as a yoga teacher.  Her style is a combination of Lata, Robert, Amrit and herself!  She is interested in and practices healthy natural eating and living.  She is exploring alternative healing concepts, including apitherapy and merging the spiritual with her yoga practice.

Her personal story is that she was born and raised in Sacramento, California, where she had a 33-year career as a court reporter.  With her husband and twin daughters, she decided to move away from the stressful environment where she was working and living and move to Englewood to enjoy a more peaceful, relaxed lifestyle. Having exercised all her adult life — jogging, aerobics, pilates, weight training, Tae Bo, along with some gym yoga — she discovered before moving that beach yoga was offered within walking distance of where she would be living.  After experiencing Loving Light Yoga beach yoga, she knew she had found her passion and her home!
